Terrazas del Valle is a large residential area on the eastern side of Tijuana, in Baja California. Unlike the old centre of the city, it was built quickly as a planned housing development. From above, it is a dense pattern of long, narrow blocks of small houses, arranged in repeated rows and loops that follow the shape of the hills.
The terrain here is dry and uneven, with ridges and ravines running between the neighbourhoods. On a map, the residential streets often stop at the edge of a slope, leaving empty areas where the ground is too steep to build. Main roads connect the development to the rest of Tijuana and to the routes leading east.
