Tirebolu lies on the Black Sea coast of Giresun province in northeastern Turkey. From above, the town is shaped by a small headland pushing into the sea. The older streets crowd onto this promontory and the slopes behind it, and the coastal highway follows the shoreline in a long, steady curve. Behind the town, the land rises steeply.
