Touagui lies in the Bas-Sassandra district of southwestern Ivory Coast, a humid region of forest, plantations and river valleys inland from the Atlantic coast. From above, the town is a modest cluster of streets and compounds gathered around a few main roads. Farm tracks lead out from them into the surrounding countryside.
The Touagui map poster captures a simple, open composition: a small built-up core, a loose ring of plots and houses, and then broad areas with few roads where the landscape is mostly vegetation and fields.
