Trikonavattam lies close to Kollam in the south of Kerala, in the green, densely settled lowland between the Arabian Sea and the Western Ghats. Like much of coastal Kerala, it has no sharply defined centre. On the map, houses and lanes spread continuously across the landscape along small roads that curve around plots, ponds and patches of greenery.
