Tulsipur lies in the Dang valley of western Nepal, one of the broad Inner Terai valleys enclosed between ranges of low hills. From above the town appears as a spreading grid of streets on flat valley ground, with farmland pressing close on every side and the slopes of the surrounding hills visible at the margins.
As a sub-metropolitan city and one of the main centres of Dang, Tulsipur has grown outward along its principal roads, so the map shows denser blocks around the core thinning into looser development and fields. Streams coming down from the hills cross the valley floor and give the flat landscape a few natural lines.
