Uxbridge Map Poster & Print
Uxbridge sits at the western edge of Greater London, in the Borough of Hillingdon, close to the Buckinghamshire border. It began as a market town on the road west out of London, and its old high street still runs through the centre. Today the town centre is compact and commercial, surrounded by suburban streets and patches of green.
The western edge of the town is defined by water. The River Colne and the Grand Union Canal run side by side north to south, and the county boundary follows the same valley. On the map they make two parallel lines with locks, lakes and open land between them. Uxbridge is also the western terminus of the Metropolitan and Piccadilly lines, which is part of its identity for many Londoners.
An Uxbridge map poster suits the many people who have passed through the town, above all students of Brunel University, whose large campus lies just to the south. The map shows the centre, the curves of the residential streets and the waterways along the edge. It is a clear portrait of a place where London meets the country beyond it.
