Yoqne‘am ‘Illit sits where the eastern slopes of Mount Carmel meet the Jezreel Valley in northern Israel. The town was established in the 1950s and has grown in stages up the hillside, so its streets follow contour lines rather than a grid, curving in terraced arcs around the slope.
