Zaida lies in Swabi District of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, on the flat plain north of the Indus. The town grew as a cluster of dense residential quarters, with narrow lanes and closely packed houses, and on the map it shows as a compact knot of streets surrounded by open farmland. Roads leading to neighbouring towns cut through the fields in long, straight lines.
The land around Zaida is heavily cultivated and irrigated by a network of canals and channels, part of the agricultural system that makes Swabi one of the main tobacco-growing areas of Pakistan. From above, these channels appear as thin, branching lines running between rectangular fields, giving the countryside its own quiet pattern.
