Ardea Map Poster & Print
Ardea lies south of Rome in Lazio, and its map has two very different parts. The historic centre sits on a narrow tuff spur, a compact knot of streets on high ground bounded by steep edges. Around it and down towards the sea, the municipality spreads into newer residential districts laid out across the flat coastal plain.
Ardea is one of the oldest towns in the region. In Roman legend it was the capital of the Rutuli, the people led by Turnus in Virgil's Aeneid. The town is also home to a museum dedicated to the sculptor Giacomo Manzù, who lived and worked here.
An Ardea map poster brings both scales together: the tight, defensive shape of the old hill town and the looser, scattered pattern of the settlements towards the coast, where the land meets a long, straight shoreline. It is a map of layered time, with the oldest streets at the centre of the composition.

Coastal districts
Newer neighbourhoods fan out across the plain towards the sea, drawn as a looser, more open network of residential streets.
Tyrrhenian shoreline
The municipality reaches the coast, where a long, nearly straight line of shore closes the composition against the open sea.
