Arteixo lies immediately west of A Coruña, stretching from green inland valleys to a rocky section of the Atlantic coast. Its map is not that of a single compact town but of a municipality made up of scattered parishes, with the main settlement along the road corridor and smaller hamlets tucked into the surrounding hills and farmland.
Two things put Arteixo on the wider map. The headquarters of Inditex, the fashion group behind Zara, is located here, alongside the large Sabón industrial area.
