Crescents and courts
Curving streets and short dead-end courts give the neighbourhood its distinctive look from above, a pattern of loops that reads almost like a drawing.

Fallingbrook Map Poster
Fallingbrook is a residential neighbourhood in Orléans, in the east end of Ottawa. From above, it is a classic late twentieth-century suburb. A few collector roads carry traffic through, and from them branch crescents, loops and short courts that rarely meet at right angles. The result is a pattern of rounded shapes that looks more like a fingerprint than a grid.
Parks, school grounds and green corridors sit between the streets, and walking paths connect cul-de-sacs that would otherwise be dead ends. The Ottawa River lies a short way to the north. Main roads mark the edges of the neighbourhood and link it with the rest of Orléans and with downtown Ottawa to the west.
A Fallingbrook map poster is a portrait of a neighbourhood known best to the people who live in it. Every curve is part of a familiar route, whether a walk to school or a drive home, and the soft, rounded lines of the street plan look especially good in minimal black and white.

Green pockets
Parks and school fields sit inside the street network rather than at its edge. They appear as open spaces scattered among the houses.
Arterial edges
Straighter main roads frame the neighbourhood. They form a clear boundary that helps the eye find its way into the looping streets inside.
