Winding village lanes
Narrow roads meander between homes and gardens without a formal grid, forming a delicate, irregular network that covers the map evenly.

Kandalloor Map Poster & Print
Kandalloor is a settlement in the Alappuzha district of Kerala, in the southern part of India's Malabar coast, not far from Kayamkulam. Its map does not show a dense town centre. Instead it spreads out in the way many Kerala villages do: narrow lanes winding between houses and gardens, with homes set on individual plots rather than packed into blocks.
The land here is low and close to water. The backwater country of central Kerala, a network of lagoons, canals and channels running parallel to the sea, lies nearby, and waterways and ponds are part of the local landscape. On a map these appear as irregular shapes and fine lines threading through the lanes.
A Kandalloor map poster suits the style well because the place has no rigid grid to fill the sheet. Its pattern is irregular, with small roads branching and rejoining and water appearing between them. In black and white it has an almost hand-drawn quality, closer to a sketch of a landscape than a plan of a city.

Water close by
Ponds, channels and backwater edges typical of the Alappuzha region appear as soft shapes and fine lines woven among the lanes.
Dispersed settlement
Houses spread across the landscape rather than gathering in one dense core, which gives the map a balanced, open texture from edge to edge.

Many people from Kandalloor now live elsewhere in India or abroad, and a map of the home village is a quiet way to keep it close. It works well as a gift for parents, or for a new home far from Kerala.
You can personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates line, perhaps with a family house name or a wedding date. Five styles are available: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand. Paper gives the lanes a gentle, warm finish.
