Lisburn Map Poster & Print
Lisburn sits on the River Lagan, which forms a soft, winding line along the southern side of the centre. The older streets gather around the market square and the cathedral. Beyond them, suburbs spread outward, along with roads toward Belfast, which lies a short distance to the north-east, and the M1 motorway, which runs to the south of the centre.
Lisburn became a city in 2002. Historically it was a major centre of linen production, and the Irish Linen Centre and Lisburn Museum, housed in the old market house, tells the story of that industry. Christ Church Cathedral stands at the heart of the old town.
A Lisburn map poster shows how a market town on the Lagan grew into a city. Its compact historic core, the river, and the roads and suburbs around it make a clear, balanced composition. It suits people from the area and anyone with a link to Northern Ireland's linen heritage.

Market square core
The historic centre, with its market square, cathedral and old market house, forms the densest part of the street pattern.
Suburban spread
Newer residential areas and main roads extend toward Belfast and the surrounding countryside. They show the city's growth beyond its original centre.
