Irrigation canal lines
Thin channels run across the farmland around the town. On the poster they read as fine, regular strokes that frame the denser urban area.

Marg‘ilon Map Poster & Print
Marg‘ilon lies in the southern part of the Fergana Valley, a short distance from the city of Fergana. From above, it is a dense low-rise town surrounded by a patchwork of fields, orchards and irrigation channels. The valley floor is flat, so the street pattern spreads out evenly. Older neighbourhoods of courtyard houses show as irregular lanes, while later districts follow straighter Soviet-era lines.
It is one of the oldest towns in Uzbekistan, and in 2007 it officially marked two thousand years of history. For centuries Marg‘ilon has been a centre of silk production, best known for ikat-dyed atlas and adras fabrics that are still woven by hand in local workshops. The silk trade tied the town to the caravan routes that crossed the valley.
A Marg‘ilon map poster shows a place shaped by water and cultivation, not by coasts or rivers. Canals cross the outskirts in thin, nearly parallel lines, and the town's lanes grow denser toward the centre. In monochrome, the result is close to a textile pattern, which suits a town that has made its living from weaving.

Old courtyard quarters
The historic neighbourhoods are made up of narrow, irregular lanes between walled courtyard houses. These areas appear as the most finely textured part of the map.
Twin with Fergana
Marg‘ilon and the city of Fergana sit close together on the valley floor. A wider crop shows the two street networks nearly meeting across the fields.
