Ojinaga Map Poster & Print
Ojinaga lies in the far north-east of Chihuahua, on the Mexican bank of the Rio Grande, directly across from Presidio, Texas. On a map the city appears as a regular grid of streets on flat ground near the river, surrounded by irrigated fields along the watercourses and open desert beyond, with bare mountain ranges in the distance.
Close to the city the Río Conchos, the principal river of Chihuahua, joins the Rio Grande, and the green strip of farmland along both rivers, known as La Junta de los Ríos, has been settled by farming communities for a very long time. An international bridge links Ojinaga with Presidio, joining the two towns across the border.
An Ojinaga map poster captures a rare meeting of geography and politics: two rivers, one international border and a city grid laid out on the desert floor. It is a meaningful image for families on both sides of the river and for anyone who has crossed the bridge between Chihuahua and Texas.
