Rāmachandrapuram Map Poster & Print
Rāmachandrapuram lies in the Godavari delta of coastal Andhra Pradesh, one of the most intensively farmed regions in India. From above, the land is completely flat. The town forms a compact cluster of streets, and irrigation canals and roads run out from it across wide paddy fields.
The delta's canal network was built in the nineteenth century, when the Godavari was dammed upstream, and it still shapes the landscape. Around the town, waterways and field boundaries cross in long lines, with villages spaced out along them. On the map, the town is the densest point in this spread-out pattern.
A Rāmachandrapuram map poster turns the delta's structure into a clear design. The town streets form a dark core, the canals and roads leave it in straight or gently curving lines, and the fields between them become open space. The overall effect is calm and orderly, a picture of cultivated flatland.

Compact centre
The town's streets and markets are packed into a small area. They form a dark centre against the lighter farmland.
Paddy country
Wide rice fields lie between the canals and roads. They show as open space broken by a few fine lines, which keeps the poster light.
