Rio de Mouro Map Poster & Print
Rio de Mouro is a parish in the municipality of Sintra, part of the Lisbon metropolitan area. Its map follows the Sintra railway line, which runs through the area on its way from Lisbon. Along the line, dense residential neighbourhoods rise over rolling ground, with streets bending to fit the slopes and open patches marking valleys and higher land.
Like much of the corridor between Lisbon and Sintra, Rio de Mouro grew rapidly in the second half of the twentieth century as families moved out of the capital. Older rural roads remain in the plan, and newer blocks of flats are arranged around them. The result is a mix of irregular lanes and more planned residential clusters.
A Rio de Mouro map poster traces that suburban landscape carefully. The railway gives a firm line through the middle, the neighbourhoods gather into tight groups, and the curving streets show how the terrain shaped construction. It is a precise image of a real, lived-in place, the kind of Lisbon that visitors rarely see but residents know well.

Slope-shaped streets
The ground rises and falls, so many streets curve along contours rather than following a grid. This creates a soft, organic pattern on the map.
Mixed old and new
Older roads from the area's rural past run between denser modern housing clusters, leaving visible layers of development across the parish.
