Shakhtinsk Map Poster & Print
Shakhtinsk lies in the Karaganda coal basin in central Kazakhstan, west of the city of Karaganda. Its name comes from the Russian word for a mine, and it was built in the mid-twentieth century to house workers from the nearby pits. The map reflects that origin: a compact, planned grid of streets and apartment blocks surrounded by open steppe.
Around the residential area, the landscape shows the coal industry: mine sites, railway spurs and the spoil heaps typical of the basin. Roads connect Shakhtinsk to Karaganda and to neighbouring mining towns such as Saran and Abay, so a wider frame shows a whole network of working settlements across the plain.
A Shakhtinsk map poster presents this working landscape clearly. The rigid lines of the planned town and the scattered industrial shapes around it make a stark composition that suits the Noir and Blueprint styles. Nothing in the layout is decorative, and that gives the print its character.

Mining landscape
Mine sites, rail lines and spoil heaps surround the town, adding irregular industrial shapes to the edges of the map.
Steppe setting
The flat, open land around Shakhtinsk leaves plenty of empty space, so the town reads as a sharply defined shape on the print.
