Spinea-Orgnano Map Poster & Print
Spinea lies on the Venetian mainland just west of Mestre, in the flat land that stretches inland from the lagoon. Orgnano is one of its localities. From above, the area reads as a continuous residential fabric of streets, houses and gardens, with larger roads and railway lines marking the edges.
The town grew strongly in the second half of the twentieth century as people moved out from Venice and Mestre, and the street pattern reflects that: short residential roads, small housing estates and green spaces, all on completely flat ground. Canals and drainage ditches, common across the Venetian plain, add thin lines of water to the network.
A Spinea-Orgnano map poster shows a place that is often passed through on the way to Venice but is home to thousands of people. The fine, even pattern of streets fills the frame, broken only by a few main roads and open spaces. It is a calm, detailed map that works well in black and white.
