Viana do Castelo Map Poster & Print
Viana do Castelo sits where the Lima River meets the Atlantic in northern Portugal. The historic centre lies on the north bank, a close grid of granite streets and squares that opens onto the waterfront, while the estuary widens toward the sea between sandbanks, harbour walls and the shipyards that have long shaped the city's economy.
Above the town rises the hill of Santa Luzia, crowned by a basilica visible along much of the coast. On a map its slopes appear as a band of curving roads and woodland climbing behind the grid. Across the river, a double-deck metal bridge opened in 1878, built by the Eiffel company, carries both road and rail traffic.
The city is also known for its August festival, the Romaria de Nossa Senhora da Agonia, and for the gold filigree jewellery of the Minho region. A Viana do Castelo map poster brings together river, ocean, hill and old town, each clearly readable in black and white and arranged in a naturally balanced composition.

Viana do Castelo is a city people fall for on a trip along the Minho coast, and one many families left for work abroad. The map holds the river, hill and sea together in a way that is instantly recognisable.
Personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates line, perhaps with the date of a festival visit or a wedding. Choose among five styles, Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand; Blueprint suits a city with a long shipbuilding tradition.
