Plaza and blocks
The town centre follows a regular colonial-style grid around a main plaza. The evenly sized blocks give the poster a clear, stable centre.

Villa Ocampo Map Poster & Print
Villa Ocampo lies in the far north of Santa Fe province, in the flat country near the Paraná River system. The town itself follows the orderly Spanish-American plan: square blocks, a central plaza and straight avenues. That regular pattern contrasts sharply with the landscape to the east, where the ground breaks up into floodplain lagoons, streams and marshland.
The area has long been associated with sugar cane growing and processing. In a province better known for grain and cattle, that is unusual, and it reflects the warmer, wetter climate of this northern edge. Farm roads and field divisions around the town record that agricultural history on the map.
A Villa Ocampo map poster captures the meeting of two geometries. On one side are the right angles of the town. On the other are the irregular, water-shaped forms of the Paraná's floodplain. In black and white, the contrast becomes the main subject of the print, simple and quite graphic.

Floodplain waters
East of town, lagoons and meandering channels of the Paraná system break up the land. These free-form shapes contrast with the straight streets.
Cane country roads
Straight rural roads and field boundaries spread from the town across the surrounding farmland, reflecting the region's long association with sugar cane.

For people from northern Santa Fe, this is a map of home that rarely appears on a wall. It records the plaza, the blocks around it and the watery landscape just beyond, all of which say something specific about where the town is.
