Linear hamlets
Homes and farmyards stretch along roads and canals instead of clustering in one knot. They draw long, beaded lines across the poster.

Yishikuli Map Poster & Print
Yishikuli is in the oasis around Yarkand, one of the largest farmed areas on the southwestern edge of the Tarim Basin in Xinjiang. Much of the land here has no single compact centre. Houses and farmyards line the roads and canals instead, forming long threads of settlement across the fields.
The oasis depends on water from the high mountains to the south and west, carried by the Yarkand River and spread through a network of channels. On a map, that water system shapes everything, from the direction of the roads to the size of the fields. It gives the landscape a disciplined, repeating geometry.
A Yishikuli map poster records a way of settling land that is quite different from a city grid or a European village. For people who grew up among these fields, or who still have family there, it is a precise, unsentimental reminder of home, with every lane in its place.

Irrigated fields
Regular plots of farmland fill the spaces between settlements. Their edges follow the water channels and field tracks that repeat across the frame.
Yarkand oasis
The area is part of the wide, fertile oasis fed by the Yarkand River, a green island in an otherwise arid basin, with an old Silk Road town at its centre.
