Abington Map Poster & Print
Abington sits just beyond the northern edge of Philadelphia, in Montgomery County, and from above it looks like what it is: a mature Pennsylvania township that grew outward from old crossroads villages. Streets rarely run straight for long. They bend around creeks, school grounds and wooded lots, then meet the long diagonal of Old York Road, the historic route that once linked Philadelphia with New York.
Although it is a township rather than a city, Abington holds several distinct centres: the hospital campus near Old York Road, the Penn State Abington campus with its lawns and tree lines, and the commercial area around Willow Grove Park Mall. SEPTA regional rail lines cut through on wooded corridors, and their stations form small knots in the street pattern that are easy to pick out on paper.
An Abington map poster works best at a scale that shows the township whole, because its character lies in the balance between built-up blocks and green space. Parks, golf grounds and school fields read as quiet pale shapes, while the denser streets near the city line thin into winding cul-de-sacs further north. It is a portrait of suburban Philadelphia at its most settled.

Rail corridors
Several SEPTA regional rail branches pass through Abington, and their curving rights-of-way, framed by trees and backyards, add long unbroken lines to an otherwise finely divided street pattern.
Green pockets
Parks, school grounds and the Penn State Abington campus open up the map, leaving calm blank areas between residential neighbourhoods that give the poster room to breathe.

Zakaj Abington
Zemljevid, ki nekaj pomeni
Abington is a place where people put down roots, and a map of it often marks a first house, a school run or a family street near the city line. Hung in a hallway, the lines read as a record of daily routes rather than a tourist view.
You can add a personal title, a subtitle such as a move-in date, and a coordinates line, then choose from Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand. Take it as a $9 HD file or as a printed matte poster with an optional wooden frame.
