Ābīy Ādī Map Poster & Print
Ābīy Ādī lies in the Tigray Region of northern Ethiopia, in the Tembien area west of Mekelle. The surrounding country is a landscape of highland plateaus, escarpments and dry valleys, and the town sits within it as a compact settlement with roads leading out in several directions. From above, the built area is modest, with the terrain doing much of the work in the composition.
The town has long served as a local administrative and market centre for Tembien. The wider region is known for its rock-hewn churches and old monasteries carved into cliffs and hillsides, part of the long Christian heritage of Tigray. On the map, the surrounding hills and valleys frame the town in a way that feels both open and enclosed.
Seasonal streams run through the landscape, visible after the rains as thin lines crossing the plains and cutting into the slopes. An Ābīy Ādī map poster presents the town's quiet layout against this setting, showing the streets of its centre, the roads that link it to the rest of Tigray, and the rugged ground beyond.
