Alabaster Map Poster & Print
Alabaster is a city in Shelby County, Alabama, roughly 25 miles south of downtown Birmingham. It takes its name from the Alabaster Lime Company, one of the lime and limestone operations that shaped the area's early economy. Interstate 65 runs north to south through the city, and together with U.S. Route 31 it forms the main spine along which Alabaster has grown.
From above, the city shows the typical form of a fast-growing Southern suburb. Curving residential streets and cul-de-sacs branch off a handful of main roads, following the low wooded ridges of central Alabama. A railroad line crosses the city, and pockets of forest, creeks and parks remain between neighbourhoods, softening the pattern and leaving open spaces across the map.
An Alabaster map poster makes a clear, orderly image of a place that has expanded steadily as a residential community for the Birmingham area. The straight line of the interstate, the looping subdivisions and the green gaps between them give the composition a mix of structure and softness. For many owners, it marks a first home, a school or a new chapter.

Suburban loops
Residential streets curve and branch into cul-de-sacs across the city, forming rounded, repeating shapes that give Alabaster its characteristic suburban texture from above.
Wooded ridges
Low forested ridges and creek valleys run between neighbourhoods, leaving open, street-free areas that break up the built pattern and add breathing room to the print.
