Huerta channels
Irrigation channels and small plots spread out around the town. Their fine, irregular pattern is the most distinctive texture on the print.

Alcantarilla Map Poster & Print
Alcantarilla lies just west of Murcia city on the flat, fertile plain of the Segura river, known as the huerta. The town is dense and compact, with a busy centre and newer districts spreading outward. The motorway and railway run along its edges. Beyond them, the land breaks into small plots fed by irrigation channels, some of them centuries old.
Those channels are the town's best-known feature. Alcantarilla is home to a large historic water wheel that lifts water from an irrigation channel onto higher ground. Next to it stands a museum dedicated to the traditional life of the Murcian huerta. The town is also the site of a Spanish air force base, where the military parachute school is based.
An Alcantarilla map poster captures the edge where town meets farmland. The streets are drawn densely, the plots are drawn fine, and the long straight lines of transport run through both. It is a map for people from the Murcia region who recognise how closely town life and irrigated land are tied together here.

The water wheel
A large historic noria lifts water from a channel to higher ground. It is one of the town's landmarks and sits beside the huerta museum.
Dense town core
The centre is tightly built, with close blocks and short streets. It forms a solid mass against the looser farmland around it.

Zakaj Alcantarilla
Zemljevid, ki nekaj pomeni
For people from Alcantarilla or the wider Murcia area, this map shows something the region is proud of: a town still bound to its irrigated fields. It also suits anyone who has been stationed at the air base and wants a reminder of that time.
The title, subtitle and coordinates line can all be personalised. There are five styles: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand. Sand reflects the dry Murcian light, while Blueprint brings out the network of channels.
