Village core
The old centre around the church keeps a small, irregular street pattern, clearly different from the larger planned blocks that surround it on all sides.

Alcorcón Map Poster & Print
Alcorcón lies a short distance southwest of Madrid, one of the towns that grew fastest during the metropolitan expansion of the 1960s and 1970s. Before that it was a small village known for its potters, who made water jugs and cooking vessels from local clay. On the map the old village core is still visible as a small knot of irregular streets within a much larger planned city.
Around that core lie large residential districts of apartment blocks arranged in regular patterns, with generous open spaces between them. A striking landmark is the Castillos de San José de Valderas, a twentieth-century building in the style of a castle that is now used for cultural events. The city also hosts a campus of the Universidad Rey Juan Carlos.
An Alcorcón map poster shows the order of a planned suburb softened by parks and history. The dense blocks, the old centre, the ring of motorways and the green areas on the outskirts create a composition that is both geometric and varied. It suits residents, former students and anyone who has made a home on the southwest side of Madrid.

Motorway frame
Major roads encircle and cross the city, forming strong lines that define its boundaries and separate it from the neighbouring municipalities of the metropolitan area.

Zakaj Alcorcón
Zemljevid, ki nekaj pomeni
Alcorcón is where many families settled when they moved to Madrid, and where their children grew up. A map of its streets and parks makes a thoughtful gift for anyone who knows the city well, or a personal marker of home.
Personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates line with a name, a neighbourhood or a date, and choose one of five styles: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. Blueprint emphasises the planned geometry of the blocks.
