Old town lanes
The historic core is a close, irregular network of lanes that grew over centuries, not by plan. It forms the most intricate part of the print.

Aonla Map Poster & Print
Aonla is a town in Bareilly district, Uttar Pradesh, on the level alluvial plain of Rohilkhand. On a map the older centre stands out as a tangle of narrow, irregular lanes. It is surrounded by a looser ring of newer streets, and beyond that a pattern of field boundaries and village tracks.
The town is connected with the Rohilla period of the region's past, when it served for a time as a seat of Rohilla power in the eighteenth century. Its name matches the Hindi word for the Indian gooseberry, a fruit grown widely across the surrounding countryside.
Because the land is so flat, an Aonla map poster is all about street pattern rather than terrain. The organic old quarter, the straighter roads added later and the rail and road links towards Bareilly each have a slightly different line character. Together they give the print a layered look.

Rohilkhand plain
With no hills or coastline to shape it, Aonla spreads evenly across flat farmland. That leaves the roads and settlement edges to define its outline.
Links to Bareilly
Road and rail connections head out towards the district headquarters at Bareilly. They cut straighter lines through the surrounding agricultural landscape.

Zakaj Aonla
Zemljevid, ki nekaj pomeni
An Aonla print makes sense for anyone whose family history runs through Rohilkhand, or for people who have moved away and want a clear picture of the streets they grew up on. The dense old centre reads well from across a room.
Add a family name, a wedding date or a simple Aonla, Uttar Pradesh in the title and subtitle lines. Choose from Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand. Blueprint gives the lanes an almost archival feel.
