Athens Map Poster & Print
Athens lies in the hills of southeastern Ohio, at the edge of Appalachia, and is home to Ohio University, founded in 1804 as the first university in the Northwest Territory. From above, the town centre and campus sit together on a rise above the Hocking River, with streets climbing and descending the surrounding ridges in a pattern that bends to the terrain.
The Hocking curves around the south and west sides of town, and part of its course was straightened in the twentieth century to reduce flooding, giving the river an unusually smooth line on the map. Court Street, the main commercial street, runs past College Green, the historic heart of the university, where old brick buildings stand among paths and lawns.
An Athens map poster from Ohio records the setting of countless student years: the grid of uptown, the long curves of the river, the campus spreading toward the valley floor and the wooded hills beyond. It is a natural choice for graduates, faculty and families, and for anyone who has lived in this particular corner of the state.

Hocking River
The river sweeps around the town in a broad arc, its partly straightened channel creating a clean, bold line along the edge of the campus.
Hillside streets
Beyond the centre, residential streets follow ridges and hollows, curving and branching in patterns shaped by the Appalachian foothills rather than any grid.

Zakaj Athens
Zemljevid, ki nekaj pomeni
For many people, Athens is where adult life began, a few years remembered in terms of streets, porches and walks across the green. A map of the town turns those memories into something quiet and permanent for the wall.
Add your graduation year or a name to the title and subtitle, edit the coordinates line, and choose Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. Printed posters come on matte paper, with an optional wooden frame.
