Road-spine layout
The town stretches along its main roads, which act as a backbone for the street pattern and give the map a strong, readable linear structure.

Āyana Map Poster & Print
Āyana lies in western Oromia, in the uplands of the Wellega area, a region of rolling hills, river valleys and patches of woodland that is greener and wetter than much of Ethiopia. The town has grown along its roads, and on a map its streets form a loose, open pattern, with the main routes acting as a spine from which smaller lanes branch outward.
Around the built-up area the land is farmed in small plots, and paths wind between fields, homesteads and groves of trees. Streams run down through the valleys, and on a monochrome poster their thin curving lines mix with the tracks to create a relaxed, organic texture. The town centre, where the streets are closest together, forms the densest part of the map.
An Āyana map poster suits anyone with roots in this part of Oromia who wants a precise, uncluttered picture of home. It avoids decoration and simply shows the layout of the town as it is: the main road, the side streets and the countryside beyond, drawn with the same clarity as a map of a capital.

Rolling uplands
Hills and shallow valleys surround Āyana, and the roads curve to follow them, softening the geometry of the town with gentle bends and turns.
Streams and fields
Small watercourses and a patchwork of farm paths cover the surrounding land, filling the edges of the poster with fine, irregular lines.
