Baltimore Map Poster & Print
Baltimore grew around the Patapsco River where it opens toward Chesapeake Bay, and its map is shaped by water. The Inner Harbor sits at the heart of the downtown, with branches of the river reaching toward neighbourhoods such as Fells Point, Canton and Locust Point. From the waterfront, a dense grid of rowhouse streets spreads north, east and west, cut by the valley of the Jones Falls.
In 1814, the defence of Fort McHenry, at the tip of Locust Point, inspired Francis Scott Key to write the words that became the national anthem. The city is also home to Johns Hopkins University and hospital, and to Mount Vernon, where the first major monument to George Washington was begun in 1815.
A Baltimore map poster shows how the harbour pulls the whole city toward it. The rowhouse grid gives the print a fine, even texture, broken by large parks such as Druid Hill and Patterson Park. The harbour, with its piers and peninsulas, creates a detailed, strongly drawn southern edge.

Fort McHenry
At the tip of the Locust Point peninsula, the star-shaped fort is a small but distinct geometric shape where the harbour meets the wider river.
Rowhouse grid
Long, narrow blocks of rowhouses cover much of the city, forming a dense, regular pattern broken by large parks and the Jones Falls valley.

Zakaj Baltimore
Zemljevid, ki nekaj pomeni
Baltimore is a city of neighbourhoods, and people tend to be loyal to theirs. A map poster lets you mark a particular block, a first apartment or a favourite corner of the harbour, in a design that suits a rowhouse wall.
Add a title, a subtitle with the neighbourhood name or date, and a coordinates line for the exact spot. Choose Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand, then download the files or order a printed poster.
