The Barysh River
The river curves past the town in wide loops, giving the map a flowing line that balances the more orderly street pattern beside it.

Barysh Map Poster & Print
Barysh lies in the west of Ulyanovsk Oblast, on the river that shares its name, a tributary of the Sura. On a map the town stretches along the valley, with the river winding past its edge and the streets arranged in a largely regular pattern of blocks typical of small Russian towns that grew around industry and the railway.
The river is the most expressive feature of the composition. Its bends and oxbows cut a soft, irregular line through the frame, while the town's straighter streets form a contrasting texture beside it. Rail lines add long, confident strokes, and beyond the built-up area the map opens into fields and wooded land that surround the town on several sides.
A Barysh map poster reduces all of this to clean lines: the grid, the rail corridor and the meandering river. It is not a showpiece city, and that is part of its appeal. The poster presents an honest portrait of a working town, precise and understated, in a form that sits comfortably on any wall.

Regular town blocks
Much of Barysh is laid out in straight streets and rectangular blocks, which appear on the poster as a calm, even texture.
Railway corridor
The railway runs through the area as a long, straight line, one of the clearest features of the map and a reminder of how the town is connected.
