Bāzpur Map Poster & Print
Bāzpur lies in the Terai of Uttarakhand, the flat, fertile belt at the foot of the Himalayan foothills. On a map, the town is a dense cluster of lanes and market streets centred on its main roads. Around it the land opens into a patchwork of large fields, crossed by straight roads, canals and the occasional watercourse coming down from the hills to the north.
This is productive farming country, known especially for sugarcane, and much of the town's life turns on agriculture and the trade that grows from it. The Terai was settled and farmed intensively during the twentieth century, and the regular pattern of fields and roads visible from above reflects that history of planned cultivation.
A Bāzpur map poster captures the contrast between the tight, busy town centre and the orderly geometry of the farmland that surrounds it. It is a map that shows the plains clearly, with the hills just beyond the frame.

Field geometry
Surrounding farmland is divided into large, regular plots, which give the outer map a calm, almost architectural rhythm.
Canals and streams
Irrigation channels and small rivers cross the plain from the north, adding fine flowing lines to the grid of fields.
