Lehigh River
The river cuts the city from east to west, a broad band of water with rail lines alongside that divides the map neatly into its northern and southern halves.

Bethlehem Map Poster & Print
Bethlehem sits in the Lehigh Valley of eastern Pennsylvania, split by the Lehigh River into a north side and a south side with distinct characters. The north bank holds the old Moravian settlement and the later downtown, while the south side grew around the steelworks. Seen from above, the two halves read as separate street grids pressed against the river, stitched together by bridges.
The town was founded in 1741 by Moravian settlers, who named it on Christmas Eve, and it is still called the Christmas City. Their stone buildings along Church Street form a historic district recognised by UNESCO in 2024 as part of the Moravian Church Settlements. On the map, this oldest area is a small, compact grid beside Monocacy Creek.
On the south bank, the long site of Bethlehem Steel runs beside the river, its preserved blast furnaces now the backdrop to an arts and music campus. Lehigh University climbs the slopes of South Mountain behind it. A Bethlehem map poster shows these layers together: Moravian settlement, industrial riverfront, university hill and the bridges between them.

Hill-to-Hill Bridge
This long bridge carries traffic from the historic north side over the river and rail tracks to the south side, a prominent link across the centre of the map.
Steel plant site
The former Bethlehem Steel works stretches along the south bank as a long, open industrial footprint, now partly reused for culture, entertainment and new development.

Zakaj Bethlehem
Zemljevid, ki nekaj pomeni
Bethlehem draws graduates of Lehigh and Moravian universities, families with steelworker roots and visitors who come every December for the Christmas markets. A map brings the river, the hills and both sides of town together in a way a single photograph cannot.
Add a class year, a wedding date or a street name in the title and subtitle, and adjust the coordinates line. The design comes in Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand, as print-ready files or as a matte poster with an optional frame.
