Bloomington Map Poster & Print
Seen from above, Bloomington is laid out with the regularity of the Midwest. Streets run mostly on a north–south and east–west grid across level prairie, the older blocks gather around a central courthouse square, and newer subdivisions and commercial strips extend east toward the interstates. To the north the street pattern continues without a break into the town of Normal, so the two read on the map as one urban area.
Bloomington is the seat of McLean County and home to the headquarters of State Farm, whose large campus sits on the east side. Illinois State University is just across the line in Normal. The city also has a place in Lincoln's story: in 1856 he gave his so-called Lost Speech here, an address never recorded in full, at the founding convention of the Illinois Republican Party.
A Bloomington, Illinois map poster shows how a railroad and county town turned into a regional centre. The historic core is tight and square, the rail lines cut diagonally through it, and the highway loops of I-55, I-74 and I-39 frame the city on the edges. In monochrome, the even grid and the few curving parks make a calm, balanced composition.

Constitution Trail
A walking and cycling path built partly on former rail corridors crosses Bloomington and Normal, visible as a long thread linking neighbourhoods on both sides of the boundary.
Interstate junctions
Three interstate highways meet around the city, and their broad interchanges and bypass curves make a clear outer frame around the tight street grid.

Zakaj Bloomington
Zemljevid, ki nekaj pomeni
Bloomington posters tend to go to people with a real connection to the place: graduates of Illinois State, State Farm employees, families who have lived in McLean County for generations. The map shows the streets they know without turning them into a postcard.
You can add a title, subtitle and coordinates line, such as a graduation year, a wedding date or a family name, and pick Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand to fit the frame and the wall.
