Bom Jesus do Tocantins Map Poster & Print
Bom Jesus do Tocantins is a municipality in the southeast of Pará, in the Brazilian Amazon, in the wider region around Marabá and the Tocantins River basin. Like many towns of this frontier, it is relatively young and was planned simply. On the map, a modest grid of streets sits along a main road, and cleared land extends outward in long rectangular plots.
The surrounding countryside has changed over the past decades as forest gave way to ranching and farming. From above, that history shows as a mosaic of pastures with remaining patches of trees and the thin lines of streams winding between them. The town is the service centre for this wide rural area, and its streets end where the fields begin.
A Bom Jesus do Tocantins map poster shows a clear, spare composition. It has a compact centre, a road that connects it to the region, and a large surrounding landscape drawn in fine lines. For people from this part of Pará, it shows the scale of home: a small town set in a very large landscape.

Streams and pasture
Small watercourses meander through the surrounding farmland. They mark out the land and add a few soft curves to the otherwise straight pattern.
