River Irwell
The river loops through the valley on the western side of town. Its curves give the map a flowing edge that contrasts with the terraced streets.

Bury Map Poster & Print
Bury lies north of Manchester in the valley of the River Irwell. The river winds along the western side of town, and the centre sits on higher ground just to the east. Around it, rows of Victorian terraces follow the slopes. Wider suburban streets and green spaces lead out toward the Pennine moors to the north.
The town is best known for Bury Market, a large traditional market that draws visitors from across the region, and for its black pudding. Sir Robert Peel, the prime minister who founded the modern police force, was born here, and his statue stands in the centre. Bury is also the end of a Metrolink tram line and the base of the East Lancashire heritage railway.
A Bury map poster shows the town's clear structure. There is the tight core around the market and the parish church, the bending line of the Irwell, and ring and radial roads leading out. Beyond them lie closely packed terraced streets, which make a fine, dense pattern in black and white.

Market town core
The compact centre around the market and parish church is where the roads converge. In monochrome it becomes the densest, most detailed part of the composition.
Rail and tram lines
The heritage railway and the Metrolink line add long, gently curving tracks. They run along the valley and link Bury with Manchester and the moors.

Zakaj Bury
Zemljevid, ki nekaj pomeni
Bury is a town people stay loyal to: market Saturdays, football at Gigg Lane, walks up toward the moors. A poster of its streets turns those familiar routes into something worth framing.
Personalise it with a title such as your street name, a date and the coordinates, then choose one of five styles. Order it printed and delivered, or download the HD files for $9 and print them yourself.
