Chak Five Hundred Seventy-five Map Poster & Print
Chak Five Hundred Seventy-five is a settlement in Punjab, Pakistan, on the broad, level plain between the major rivers of the province. On the map it appears as a dense cluster of lanes and buildings surrounded by farmland, with straight roads and watercourses running out across the fields in every direction.
The name reflects the way much of this region was settled. In Punjab a chak is a numbered village, and many were laid out in the canal colonies created as irrigation spread across the plain. The numbers still identify places today, and the surrounding landscape reflects that planned, agricultural origin.
A Chak Five Hundred Seventy-five map poster is quietly geometric. The village centre is tight and irregular, while the land around it is divided by long straight lines of roads, canals and field edges. In black and white that contrast between the compact settlement and the ordered countryside becomes the whole design.

Canal-country lines
Irrigation channels and the roads beside them cut straight across the plain, giving the map a strong linear structure typical of Punjab's farmland.
Field patterns
Rectangular fields fill the surrounding area in a regular pattern, creating a calm, repeating texture around the edges of the poster.
