Dense old centre
Near the middle of town the street pattern tightens into short, irregular lanes, the oldest part of Chakwal and the darkest patch of ink on the poster.

Chakwal Map Poster & Print
Chakwal sits on the Pothohar Plateau in northern Punjab, where rain-fed farmland is cut by dry streambeds and eroded gullies. On a map the town shows as a tight knot of lanes around an older core, with main roads leaving it in several directions toward neighbouring districts. Beyond the built edge, field boundaries and ravines take over, giving the surroundings a creased, broken look.
The district is known across Pakistan for the many soldiers it has sent to the armed forces over generations, and for the Salt Range to its south, where the old temple complex of Katas Raj stands in the hills. Those ridges fall outside a close city frame, but they explain the uneven ground and the way roads bend as they head away from town.
A Chakwal map poster reduces all of this to line work: the denser grain of the centre, the looser pattern of newer housing and the long approach roads. In black and white, the contrast between tightly packed streets and open, furrowed countryside becomes the main subject, which suits a place whose identity is so closely bound up with the land around it.

Radiating main roads
Several main roads leave the centre toward surrounding towns and districts, giving the map a loose star shape that anchors the whole composition.
Ravine country edges
Around the town the plateau is creased by seasonal streams and gullies, which appear as thin, wandering lines between the straighter field tracks.

Zakaj Chakwal
Zemljevid, ki nekaj pomeni
People who grew up in Chakwal, or whose families come from the district and now live in other cities or abroad, often want something that recalls home without being a photograph. A street map does that quietly, and the plateau setting gives it a character distinct from larger Punjabi cities.
The title, subtitle and coordinates line can be changed, so the poster can carry a family name, a year of departure or simply the town's name. It comes in five styles, Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand, as a $9 set of HD files or as a printed poster.
