Cleckheaton Map Poster & Print
Cleckheaton lies in the Spen Valley in Kirklees, West Yorkshire, between Bradford, Huddersfield and Leeds. Its centre sits in the valley bottom, and from there streets of stone terraces rise up the hillsides, giving the town a slightly irregular, contoured shape typical of the Pennine fringe.
The town grew with the textile industry and became a centre for making card clothing, the wire-toothed material used to prepare fibres for spinning. Former mills still stand among the terraces. The route of an old railway has become the Spen Valley Greenway, a walking and cycling path, and the M62 motorway passes close by to the north.
A Cleckheaton map poster shows a working town shaped by its valley: the dense centre, rows of terraced housing following the slopes, and pockets of green where parks and open hillside break through. In black and white the tight terraced streets form a fine, rhythmic texture that reflects the town's industrial past.

Spen Valley Greenway
A former railway line now runs as a traffic-free path through the valley, a smooth continuous line that stands out against the irregular street pattern.
Town centre
The centre gathers in the valley bottom where the main roads meet, a compact knot of streets and former mill sites at the heart of the poster.

Zemljevid, ki nekaj pomeni
Cleckheaton means a great deal to those who grew up in the Spen Valley, and a map of its terraces and mills is a grounded, unpretentious way to keep that connection on the wall.
You can add a family name, a date or a street to the title lines and adjust the coordinates, choosing from five styles. Noir suits the stone and industry, while Paper feels warm and domestic.
