Whole island in frame
Daru Island is small enough that its entire outline fits on the poster. The town looks like a single shape set in the sea.

Daru Map Poster & Print
Daru is the capital of Western Province in Papua New Guinea. It sits on Daru Island, a small, low island off the southern coast near the mouth of the Fly River and close to the Torres Strait islands of Australia. On the map, the entire island fits into the frame, with shallow sea all around.
The town covers much of the island. Streets and houses sit close together, and the airstrip is a long, straight shape through the built-up area. The coastline is irregular, with reefs, sandbanks and mudflats around it, and the mainland coast lies across a narrow strait to the north.
Daru serves as a gateway between the vast lowlands of Western Province and the sea. A Daru map poster shows a rare shape: a complete town on a small island, framed on every side by water.

The airstrip
A long, straight runway crosses the island. It is a strong line against the irregular streets and the curved shoreline.
Shallows and coast
Reefs, sandbanks and the nearby mainland coast surround the island. They give the water around Daru texture and depth.

Zakaj Daru
Zemljevid, ki nekaj pomeni
Island maps have a completeness that city maps rarely do. For people from Western Province, or anyone who has worked or travelled through Daru, the poster captures the whole place in one view.
You can edit the title, subtitle and coordinates line to add a name, a date or a local phrase. Blueprint and Noir emphasise the surrounding sea, and Classic black and white, Paper and Sand are softer choices.
