Compact centre
The built-up area is tight and walkable, so the street grid forms a small dense core that stands out against the open plain around it.

Degeh Bur Map Poster & Print
Degeh Bur is a town in the Somali Region of eastern Ethiopia, set in wide, arid country. On a map, the urban area forms a compact knot of streets. Main roads run out across open land in long, nearly straight lines. Beyond the edge of town there is little to interrupt the page, so the settlement reads as a clear, concentrated shape.
A seasonal watercourse passes through the area and leaves a winding trace that contrasts with the more regular streets. In a dry landscape, lines like this show where water gathers and runs after rain. They also help explain where the town took shape.
A Degeh Bur map poster works through contrast: a dense cluster of lanes set against a lot of empty space. The composition is sparse and graphic. It suits anyone who likes maps that show how a town sits in its wider setting, as well as its streets.

Seasonal watercourse
A dry riverbed winds through the area. Its meandering line softens the geometry of the town and marks the natural drainage of the land.
Roads to the horizon
Highways leave town in long, straight runs toward other centres in the region. Near the edges of the poster they become strong directional lines.
