Rockaway River corridor
The river runs through the centre of town and gives the map its main line. Streets and older industrial parcels follow its course, and it ties the downtown to the neighbourhoods upstream and downstream.

Dover Map Poster & Print
Dover sits in the hills of Morris County in northern New Jersey, where the Rockaway River bends through a narrow valley. From above, the town reads as a dense core of short blocks around the river, with residential streets climbing the slopes on either side and thinning out into the woods and ridges of the Highlands.
Its layout comes from its industrial past. Dover grew in the nineteenth century on iron working and on the Morris Canal, which crossed northern New Jersey to carry coal and ore. The canal has long since been filled in, but the railway still runs through town, and the downtown blocks line up along it and the river in a way that remains clear on a map.
A Dover map poster shows the whole place at a scale where its structure is easy to read: the river corridor, the rail line cutting east to west, the tight downtown and the looser suburban loops beyond it. In black and white, the town looks what it is, a small valley settlement shaped by water, rails and the hills that hem it in.

Rail through downtown
The railway crosses Dover next to the commercial core, a direct line that shows up clearly on the poster and explains why the downtown blocks stretch along one axis instead of spreading evenly.
Highlands edges
Outside the centre the street grid breaks into curving roads and cul-de-sacs as the ground rises. Wooded ridges border the town and give the composition a soft, irregular frame.

Zakaj Dover
Zemljevid, ki nekaj pomeni
People hang Dover on their walls because they grew up there, commuted from it, or have family roots in its neighbourhoods. The map picks up the river and rail line that locals know without thinking about them, and turns them into a quiet, graphic piece.
You can change the title, subtitle and coordinates line to mark a street, a year or a name, and pick from Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. It comes as a $9 HD download or a printed matte poster, framed if you like.
