Rochdale Canal
The canal cuts through the town on a steady line, with locks along the way. It stands apart from the road grid as a smooth, continuous stroke.

Failsworth Map Poster & Print
Failsworth lies in the borough of Oldham, between central Manchester and Oldham itself. Its shape comes largely from two routes. Oldham Road runs through the town from south-west to north-east, and the Rochdale Canal follows a similar line close by. Houses and former industrial sites line both.
The streets away from the main road are dense terraces and later estates, built when the town's mills and hat-making drew workers in. The Failsworth Pole, a landmark that has been rebuilt several times, stands on Oldham Road and marks the traditional centre. To the south the River Medlock valley forms a greener boundary.
A Failsworth map poster brings out the linear character of the town: two parallel routes through the middle, tight residential blocks on either side, and the gentler curves of river and open land at the edges.

Oldham Road spine
The main road runs straight through Failsworth and ties it to Manchester and Oldham. Much of the town's layout is arranged along it.
Terraced streets
Rows of close-set terraced housing form fine parallel lines and small rectangular blocks, the texture of a northern industrial town.

Zakaj Failsworth
Zemljevid, ki nekaj pomeni
Failsworth means something to people who grew up on its terraces, walked the canal towpath or still pass the Pole on the way into Manchester. A map of it is a direct way to keep that local knowledge on the wall.
Personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates, perhaps with a street name or the year you moved in. Then choose Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand to suit the room.
