Fazhanhe Map Poster & Print
Fazhanhe is a township in the far south of Yunnan, in the subtropical uplands of Xishuangbanna near China's borders with Myanmar and Laos. This is mountain country cut by rivers. On a map, the built-up area is modest and follows the terrain, with roads that bend around hills and settlements set on the flatter ground.
Southern Yunnan is one of the most ethnically diverse parts of China, and the region's economy has long relied on tea, rubber and other upland crops. The land around Fazhanhe reflects this. Farmland and plantations surround the settlement, and villages are scattered along the valleys between forested slopes.
A Fazhanhe map poster shows a different side of China from the dense grids of its large cities. The lines are sparse, the curves are soft and the open space is large. The overall effect is calm and a little remote, which suits the setting.

Winding roads
The roads to nearby villages twist along ridges and river valleys. They cross the poster in long, loose curves that contrast with the compact centre.
Upland surroundings
Large areas of hills, forest and plantation stay largely free of streets. This gives the poster generous white space and a quiet balance.
