The Clarence River
The wide river sweeps through the centre of the map, separating Grafton from South Grafton and giving the poster its strongest, most recognisable shape.

Grafton Map Poster & Print
Grafton stands on the Clarence River in northern New South Wales, where the river is wide and slow, curving through the flat country of the Clarence Valley. The city centre occupies the northern bank in a regular grid of wide streets, while South Grafton faces it across the water. From above, the river dominates, dividing the map into two distinct halves.
Two bridges link the banks. The older one, opened in 1932, carries road and rail on two levels, and a newer road bridge now runs beside it. Susan Island lies in the river close to the city, its wooded outline breaking the broad band of water. A Grafton map poster frames the city around this crossing and the long curve of the Clarence.
Grafton is known for its jacaranda trees, which line many streets and turn them purple each spring. The Jacaranda Festival, first held in 1935, is among Australia's longest-running floral festivals. Although the blossom does not appear on a monochrome map, the generous avenues the trees shade are easy to recognise in the city's grid.

Double-deck bridge
The 1932 bridge carries road traffic above and trains below, and together with the newer crossing beside it forms a short, emphatic link across the water.
Susan Island
A wooded island sits in the river near the city centre, a long pale shape within the water that adds balance to the composition.

Zakaj Grafton
Zemljevid, ki nekaj pomeni
Grafton's river-divided layout makes an elegant print, and many people associate the city with jacaranda seasons, family visits and time spent in the Clarence Valley. It is a fitting gift for anyone who has moved from the region to Brisbane, Sydney or further.
Personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates line, perhaps with the year of a festival or a move, and choose among five styles: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand. HD files cost $9, and framed or unframed prints are also available.
