Gucun Map Poster & Print
Gucun is a town in Baoshan District, in the northern part of Shanghai. Like much of the Yangtze delta, the land is completely flat, and the map is shaped by roads, waterways and planning. Wide arterial roads divide the area into large blocks, and within them sit residential complexes whose parallel rows of towers appear as neat repeated shapes.
Small rivers and drainage channels, a legacy of the delta's farmland, still run through the town. They cut across the modern grid at slight angles, softening its edges. The metro line reaches Gucun from central Shanghai, and its stations have become focal points for newer development along its route.
The best-known feature is Gucun Park, one of Shanghai's largest parks, which draws crowds each spring for its cherry blossom festival. On a Gucun map poster, the park appears as a large open area of paths and ponds set against the dense blocks around it, a quiet counterweight to the regular rhythm of the surrounding housing.

Residential blocks
Large housing estates fill the spaces between the main roads, their rows of towers creating repeated parallel shapes that give the map its texture.
Delta waterways
Narrow rivers and channels left from the area's farmland past still cross the town, breaking the modern grid with gentle diagonal lines.
