Gulu Map Poster & Print
Gulu is the largest urban centre in northern Uganda and the principal city of the Acholi sub-region. On a map its centre appears as a compact grid of commercial streets, with a network of roads spreading out toward Kampala, Kitgum, Lira and the South Sudan border. Beyond the core, homes and gardens spread thinly across green, gently rolling land.
The town has changed considerably in recent decades. After the long conflict in the region ended in the mid-2000s, Gulu grew quickly as a centre for trade, education and health care, and it was granted city status in 2020. The grounds of Gulu University and the region's hospitals add large, open shapes to the otherwise fine-grained map.
A Gulu map poster shows a city in the middle of growth: a firm, regular centre, radiating roads, and outer neighbourhoods where the street pattern loosens into paths and plots. It is a fitting picture for people from Acholiland living elsewhere, and for anyone who has studied or worked here and wants to remember the streets they knew.

Radiating roads
Main roads leave the centre in several directions toward other towns of the north, forming long straight lines that give the city a star-like outline.
Open outskirts
Beyond the centre, homes, gardens and footpaths spread across open land, where the map becomes lighter and the pattern of tracks and plots grows more irregular.
