Harrisonburg Map Poster & Print
Harrisonburg sits in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia, between the Blue Ridge to the east and the Allegheny ridges to the west. At its heart is Court Square, where the county courthouse stands at the centre of the old downtown, with the main streets meeting around it. From there, the city's grid spreads out over gently rolling valley land.
The largest single feature on the map is the campus of James Madison University, which fills a broad area south of downtown with quads, playing fields and curving campus roads. Interstate 81, the valley's main north–south route, runs along the eastern side of the city, its interchanges marking the transition to the commercial areas beyond.
A Harrisonburg map poster balances these parts. The tight grid of downtown, the open spaces and loops of the campus, and the long straight line of the interstate each have their own texture. In black and white, the small creeks and parks add a few quiet curves, and the whole composition reads as a college town set in a farming valley.
