Valley-floor settlement
The built-up area sits on the flatter ground between hills. That gives the town a contained shape, with streets gathered together instead of spread evenly across the frame.

Hehua Map Poster & Print
Hehua lies in far western Yunnan, in the Tengchong area near the border with Myanmar. From above, the town is a compact cluster of streets set in a valley floor. The land around it is divided into small fields, and the streets thin out into lanes and scattered farm buildings. The map shows a place shaped by agriculture and terrain rather than by a planned grid.
The wider Tengchong region is known across China for its volcanic landscape and hot springs, and it sits on old trade routes between Yunnan and Southeast Asia. None of that appears as a label on a street map, but it explains the ground. The roads curve around rises, and the settlement follows the flatter land between them, which gives the plan an irregular outline.
A Hehua map poster shows this in fine black lines: a denser core, roads branching out towards neighbouring villages, and open space where fields and hills take over. At small scale it is a quiet composition. The empty areas matter as much as the drawn ones, because they show how the town sits within a working agricultural valley.

Roads to the countryside
Several roads leave the centre and run out to surrounding villages. They are the strongest lines on the map and give the composition a loose, radiating structure.
Open agricultural ground
Large blank areas around the town are farmland. On a minimalist poster they work as negative space, so the small street network stands out clearly.

Zakaj Hehua
Zemljevid, ki nekaj pomeni
Hehua is the kind of place people carry with them after they leave: a home town, a family origin, or a stop on a long journey through western Yunnan. A map of it records the exact streets that mattered, which a landscape photograph rarely does.
You can change the title and subtitle, and the coordinates line, to mark a name or a year. Choose from Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. Download the HD files for $9, or order a matte print with an optional wooden frame.
